"GKV ELT Konferansı Türkiye'nin bir çok ilinden gelen katılımcılarla 14. kez düzenlendi. GKV Özel Okulları Yabancı Diller Direktörlüğü organizasyonunda düzenlenen konferansa GKV Özel Okulları Genel Müdür Yardımcısı Sayın İsmet Tiryaki, GKV Özel Okulları Yabancı Diller Direktörü Sayın Cristina Gültekin, GKV Özel Liseleri Müdürü Sayın Mehtap Özdemir, GKV Özel Cemil Alevli Koleji IBDP Koordinatörü Sayın Özlem Kara, hem okullarımızda görev yapan hem de Türkiye'nin 7 bölgesinden akademisyenler, öğretmenler ve öğrenciler katıldı.
Yabancı dil eğitiminde yeni uygulamaların İngilizce öğretmenlerine anlatılmasını hedefleyen ve son 14 yıldır geleneksel hale gelerek düzenlenen GKV ELT (English Language Training) Konferansı GKV Özel Okulları ev sahipliğinde yoğun bir katılımla gerçekleşti. Etkili öğretim uygulamaları alanında İngilizce öğretimindeki eğilimleri keşfetme temasıyla gerçekleşen konferansa İstanbul, Hatay, İskenderun, Mersin, Adana, Erzurum olmak üzere bir çok ilden eğitimci ve öğrenci katıldı. GKV Rock Grubu’nun canlı performansı ile başlayan konferansta GKV Özel Liseleri Müdürü Mehtap Özdemir ve GKV Özel Okulları Yabancı Diller Direktörü Cristina Manea Gültekin’in konuşmalarıyla devam etti. Programda çalıştaylar ve poster sunumları katılımcılar tarafından oldukça beğenildi. Bu yıl konferansın ilham verici konuşmalacılarından Nick Bilbrough (CUP) drama ve İngilizce eğitimindeki ilişkisinden bahsetti. Bilbrough konuşmasının sonunda Gazze'deki öğrencilerle canlı bir bağlantı kurdu. İkinci genel konuşmacı Paul Seligson (UES) yabancı dil sınıfında kullanılacak etkili pedagojilerden bahsetti. Çalıştaylar, öğretmenlerin daha iyi öğretim uygulamaları sağlayabilmeleri için uygulamalı etkinliklere odaklandı. Daha sonra, eylem ve keşif araştırması üzerine yapılan poster sunumları, yansıma, okuma stratejileri ve GKV Özel Cemil Alevli Koleji IBDP 10. sınıf öğrencilerinin IB sistemi sunumları katılımcılara anlatıldı. Etkinliğe yaklaşık 260 öğretmen ve ELT öğrencileri katıldı.
GKV ELT 14TH CONFERENCE
GKV English Language Training Conference with participants from many provinces of Turkey was held for the 14th time on 16th March 2019.The conference was organized by the foreign languages department. GKV Assistant General Manager İsmet Tiryaki, GKV Director of Foreign Languages Cristina Gültekin,GKV Private High Schools Principal Mehtap Özdemir ,GKV Private Cemil Alevli College, IBDP Coordinator Özlem Kara, the teachers who are working in our schools , academicians from 7 regions of Turkey , teachers and ELT students attended this thrilling event. The aim of the conference was to explain new practices in foreign language education to English teachers and that has been the tradition for GKV for 14th years.
The Conference’s theme was the effective teaching practices in 2019. There were many participants, teachers and students who came from İstanbul,Hatay,İskenderun,Mersin,Adana and Erzurum.The program started with the performance of GKV’s students Rock Group and it continued with the speeches of GKV High School Principal Mehtap Özdemir and GkV Private Schools Director of Foreign Languages Cristina Gültekin.Workshops and posters presentations were highly appreciated by the participants, Nick Bilbrough (CUP) who is the inspiring speaker of this year, talked about the relationship between the drama and English education. At the end of his speech,Nick established a live connection with Gaza students. The second plenary speaker Paul Seligson (UES) talked about effective pedogogies which are to be implemented in foreign language classes. The workshops focussed on practical activities for teachers to provide better teaching practices. Afterwards, research poster presentations followed focussing on reading strategies and presentations of GKV Cemil Alevli College IBDP 10th grade students who explained the IB student profile to the participants. Nearly 260 teachers and ELT senior students attended this Conference.
