TOK

• The Theory of Knowledge course (TOK) requirement is one of the three important components at the center of the educational philosophy of the diploma program.
• The aim of the course is to teach students various ways of knowing, to develop their ability to think critically about knowledge areas and to deal with the role and nature of knowledge in their own culture and cultures, and even in a wider context.
• The TOK course, which brings a detailed and purposeful inquiry into different ways of knowing and different types of knowledge, is almost entirely a course of questions. The basis of these questions is "How do we know?".
• Inquiry is basically aimed at gaining the habit of examining and synthesizing other lessons or subjects in more depth in students.
• There are no right or wrong answers in this course, but there are criteria for judgment, defense related to the knowledge conception.
• The TOK course also plays an important role in ensuring consistency for the student's diploma program. Examining the nature of knowledge in the TOK course opens and connects academic subject areas, and shows students ways to apply their knowledge more consciously.
• As a requirement of qualifying for a diploma, the student takes 100 hours of TOK course throughout the two-year program.

 

TOK

• Bilgi Kuramı dersi (TOK) koşulu, diploma programının eğitim felsefesinin merkezinde yer alan üç önemli bileşenden bir tanesidir.
• Dersin amacı öğrencilere, bilmenin çeşitli yollarını öğretmek, bilgi alanları üzerinde eleştirel düşünmelerini, kendi  kültürlerinde ve kültürlerde hatta daha geniş çerçevede bilginin rolünü ve doğasını ele alma becerilerini geliştirmektir.
• Bilmenin farklı yollarına, bilginin farklı çeşitlerine ayrıntılı ve amaçlı bir sorgulama getiren TOK dersi, neredeyse tamamen, sorulardan oluşan bir derstir. Bu soruların temelinde de "Nasıl biliyoruz?" sorusu yatmaktadır.
• Sorgulama, temelde öğrencilerde diğer dersleri veya konuları daha derinlemesine irdeleme ve sentez yapma alışkanlığının kazandırılmasına yöneliktir.
• Bu derste, doğru veya yanlış cevaplar yoktur ancak yargılama, savunma ve bilgi kavramlarına ilişkin ölçütler bulunmaktadır.
• TOK dersi, aynı zamanda öğrencinin diploma programı için tutarlılık sağlamasında önemli bir rol oynar. TOK dersinde bilginin doğasını incelemek, akademik konu alanlarını açar ve bu alanları birbirine bağlar, öğrencilere kendi bilgilerini daha bilinçli uygulayabilecekleri yolları gösterir.
• Diploma almaya hak kazanma koşulu olarak öğrenci iki senelik program boyunca 100 saatlik TOK dersi almaktadır.
